Born April, 1959 in Cincinnati, OH, Steve is a 1982 graduate of Bellarmine University with a degree in business administration. Steve joined Tyme-It Transportation in 1986 and became President in 1990 and purchased the company in 2000. Tyme-It is a Louisville, KY based logistics company specializing in air and ground expedited services. Steve served as President of TIA (Transportation Intermediary’s Association) an international organization that serves as the voice of the third-party logistics industry. Steve has served on the board of directors for TEANA (The Expedite Association of North America) most recently as the chair of the legislative committee.
Steve is married to Karen Crawford and has 5 children, Jenna (Trevor), Brent (Alissa), Brian (Jessica), Hope and Faith. Steve has two wonderful and talented Grandson’s in Jackson and Luca. Steve and Karen are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year (2018) with a trip to Napa Valley won at last year’s Dancing with the Stars events auction, so bid early and often.
Among his hobbies are thoroughbred racehorse ownership. Steve’s syndicate, Silver-Tyme Stables, has raced several horses over the years with the most successful being 3rd place finisher Dothraki Queen in the 2015 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies right here in the bluegrass at Keeneland Race Course. That next year, Dothraki Queen was the next horse in for the Kentucky Oaks but with no early scratches, did not make the race. He is a member of Churchill Downs Turf Club.
Steve has supported many worthy programs over the years including, Kentucky Racetrack Chaplaincy, Spalding University, Waterstep, The Healing Place and Neighborhood House. Steve and Karen are members of Covenant United Methodist Church in LaGrange, KY where Steve currently serves as the chairman of the Staff Parish Relations committee.
Steve’s, accomplishments in the area of dance and choreography is varied and extensive. These include on the Wii platform, Just Dance 2016; Just Dance 2017; Just Dance 2018; Let’s Dance Wii and, The Wii Hip Hop Dance Experience! Steve would like to thank his daughters and grandsons for heckling him on his dance moves which inspired him to improve his dancefloor skills.
