  • Doug Strothman

Doug Strothman is a lifelong Louisvillian and an entrepreneur at heart.  His sixteen years of Catholic education culminated with his receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bellarmine University in 1987.

After several years of sales management and business ownership, Doug sold his company and decided to offer his talents and entrepreneurial spirit to the church.  He then spent fourteen years serving the Archdiocese of Louisville, the last twelve as President of DeSales High School. Under Doug’s leadership DeSales experience an incredible rejuvenation and has once again positioned itself as one of the premiere high schools in the city, state and region.

Upon leaving DeSales, Doug began the search for his next “mountain to climb” and found just that with the opportunity to become only the third Head of School in the twenty-seven year history of Summit Academy.  Summit Academy provides a very individualized educational experience for students with learning differences. It also has the only high school in Louisville which is dedicated solely to serving LD students. Doug loves the opportunity to affect change through team-building, culture development and hard work.  His style of management is rooted in servant leadership.

Doug is an avid golfer, a graduate of St. Xavier, serves as Vice-Chair of the Bellarmine Alumni Association, is a proud new grandfather, and loves 80’s music and travel.
