  • Erika Massey

Wife, Girl Mom, Dog Mom, Daughter, Middle Sister, CycleStar, Fitness Coach, Music Lover, Anxiety Warrior – #InchbyInch! A native of Louisville, KY, Erika has dedicated her life to improving the lives of those around her. Whether it be through her rhythm riding cycling classes at CycleBar Middletown Station, her online fitness coaching, being a mom to her two beautiful daughters, Lilly (9) and Reagan (6), a wife to her husband, Peter, lending an ear to someone in need or getting into a dance off anywhere/anytime, Erika has always had a special ability to put a smile on the faces of those around her.

Erika’s father-in-law, Bob Massey, was awarded the Rose Sherrard Memorial Award on October 18, 2016. This award is given annually by the Archdiocese of Louisville to an individual who “…continues to have a heroic commitment to the poor and marginalized individuals who are served by the Cathedrals’ Daily Lunch Program.” Bob committed over 20 years of his philanthropic life to volunteering at Sandefur Dining Hall.

When Erika was asked to participate in Let’s Dance Louisville, her lifelong passion for dance and helping others was her immediate reason for saying “Yes!” however, as there is usually a bigger picture, the fact that this event raises funds for the dining hall her father-in-law volunteered at for 20+ years was clearly why she was driven to do participate. You see, Bob Massey has since been diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, a terminal disease that forced him to stop volunteering at Sandefur Dining Hall. Now, in his name, Erika will raise funds to carry on his and many others, philanthropic passion for serving meals to the homeless or working poor.
