Chef Brandi Alexander is a private chef here in Louisville, as well as the owner and head chef of Southern Flair with Chef Brandi LLC. Brandi clawed her way to the top through 22,000 other auditioners and became the runner up in season 7 of Fox’s hit show MasterChef with Gordon Ramsay. She returned for season 12’s Back to Win where she placed top ten, and has made appearances and participated in competitions on Food Network, the Cooking Channel and the Pursuit Channel.
Brandi is a mom of three and was previously an elementary school teacher for 9 years. Education, our nation’s youth, and nourishment through food are near and dear to her heart. While filming, she discovered her love of sharing her food and cooking knowledge with the world, and now posts free cooking reels and recipes on social media to encourage others to learn this useful skill. She engages in regular segments on WHAS 11’s Claudia Coffee show and is currently working on her first cookbook. She also volunteers, promotes and engages regularly in other charities and organizations in our city such The Boys and Girls Haven and Blessings in a BackPack.
Although Brandi is entering this event with NO previous dance experience, she entered excited to learn a new skill, and even more excited to be able to do something to make a difference for those in need in the city of Louisville where she calls home.
“Food is a universal language that we all understand and can connect through. Everyone should have the privilege of enjoying a nourishing meal to fuel their bodies and warm their souls. I’m happy to find another way to “feed” people, and if I can do that in a new way through dancing, I’m willing and excited to put myself out there!”
