Madeline Carter is an Emmy-nominated journalist. She’s a Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter at WLKY News.
Madeline believes it is her mission to serve as an encouraging, informative voice for her community. She is grateful to be home in Kentucky, living close to her family in Frankfort and Louisville. She moved to the area from Washington State, where she was the Weekday Morning Anchor at NBC Right Now in the Tri-Cities.
Prior to her adventures in the Pacific Northwest, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Mass Communications with a Theatre minor. She first discovered her passion for broadcasting while working as a News Director and Radio DJ for her college radio station.
Madeline credits her participation in the Miss America Organization as the foundation for her personal and professional development. In 2018, she placed 1st Runner Up in the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program as the recipient of the Interview, Talent, People’s Choice, and Americanism Essay Awards.
The performing arts hold a special place in Madeline’s heart. She’s been singing, acting and dancing since she was born! She studied ballet, tap, modern, and jazz for 15 years with Opus II Dance Studio and Ashland Regional Ballet in Ashland, Ohio. It has always been her dream to learn ballroom, as her favorite TV show is Dancing With The Stars!
Outside of work, Madeline enjoys finding the next best food in town and going to the movies. She spends much of her free time at the gym or with her nose in a good book.
